Macrovision Corp., a company specializing in electronic license management, digital rights management (DRM) and copy-protection technologies, announced today that Daniel E. Stickel has joined Macrovision as its new SVP and general manager of the Globetrotter Software Division. Reporting directly to president and CEO Bill Krepick, Stickel brings more than 15 years of software development and executive management experience in the high-tech industry.
Mark Belinsky, who has served as the Globetrotter Software Division's SVP and general manager since 2000, has been appointed SVP of corporate strategy and will be responsible for leading Macrovision's efforts related to digital watermarking for copy-control applications."The enterprise software business is a key strategic component of Macrovision's business. Dan's extensive software industry experience and proven track record will help us take our Globetrotter division to the next level," said Krepick. "The addition of Dan also enables us to move Mark Belinsky into a position where he can combine his knowledge of the information technology and consumer electronics industries and Internet e-commerce with his knowledge of content owners' requirements for digital-to-digital copyright management and copy protection to make our digital watermarking initiatives a success."
Stickel was previously president of Conomae Corp., a wireless broadband venture, and before that, EVP and general manager at AltaVista.
