Monterey’s 'The Secrets' Wins Panavision Award

By : Michael Lee | Posted: 19 Nov 2008

Monterey Media’s The Secrets was awarded the Panavision Audience Choice Award after the film received votes from both Los Angeles’ and New York’s 23rd Israel film Festival audiences.

The Secrets, which was honored as the Opening Night Gala Film at the festival’s Los Angeles showcase, looks at the complications of a religious lifestyle in an environment of youth, rebellion and desire. The film was co-written and directed by Isreali filmmaker Avi Nesher. London-born Hadar Galron, the film’s other co-writer, won the national Best Play of 2005 award for her stage hit Mikveh. The Israeli Film Academy has recognized the film by nominating it for eight awards.

“We are delighted to bring The Secrets, which was a record-making box office success in Israel, to audiences across the U.S. and Canada,” said Scott Mansfield, CEO of Monterey Media.

The film will debut on the Times Square Geoffrey Tron electronic billboard during the 2008 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
