The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1 'Mockingjay — Part 1' Sweeps Home Video Charts

It was another banner week for new releases, with new-to-disc movie and TV releases accounting for six of the top 10 sellers on the national home video sales charts for the week ended March 8. Swooping in at No. 1 its first week in stores was Lionsgate’s 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1,' the third installment in the futuristic action/sci-fi franchise.

Sony OTT Video Service Bowing March 25

Sony Computer Entertainment will launch the PlayStation Vue subscription streaming video service March 25 in Philadelphia, New York and Chicago, SCE president Andrew House told 'The Wall Street Journal.' A nationwide rollout is planned later this year for the unpriced service.

AT&T Eyes DirecTV Acquisition for Broadband Video

As AT&T awaits regulatory approval of its $48.5 billion acquisition of DirecTV, AT&T CFO John Stephens said one of the main reasons for the union is broadband video. As AT&T’s U-verse pay-TV business grows, it eyes OTT video as supplementary to linear TV.
