MultiMeteor, Inc. is planning its first Mobile Entertainment and Gaming Exposition (MEG Expo) for October 23-24 at The Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood, Calif.
MEG Expo, held in conjunction with the Pocket PC Summit, targets film, music and game producers and wireless network providers.
MEG Expo offers panel discussions, presentations and case studies designed to help navigate the future of the rapidly growing industry of entertainment on wireless computers, cell phones and smartphones by bringing together leaders that are shaping the industry today. A corresponding exposition is planned, showcasing 10 companies that are leading the mobile entertainment charge.
"This is an exciting time in the evolution of mobile entertainment, and we are thrilled to be able to bring together the pioneers that make it happen," said conference chairman Eugene Evans, president of Infinite Ventures, a producer of PDA and wireless games. "We're creating an environment for us all to hear about the latest developments in mobile entertainment and explore what lies across the horizon in the near future."
Day one of the MEG Expo conference will focus on wireless gaming, to include topics such as Mobile Gaming: Waking Up to the Opportunities; Mobile Phones: Quit Chatting, Start Playing; and The Future of Mobile Gaming. Doug Dyer, general manager of the wireless arm of THQ, is scheduled to keynote.
Day two will be dedicated to the future of entertainment including movies, music and messaging on handhelds including a presentation from Qualcomm's Samir Khazaka foretelling the future of high-speed entertainment networks, high- speed mobile wireless data and its impact on mobile entertainment and gaming.
