MLB Advanced Media, the interactive media and Internet arm of Major League Baseball, will offer, for the first time ever, live video Webcasts of as many as 1,000 out-of-market games on MLB.com during the 2003 season.
MLB.TV will let fans worldwide watch live, full-game broadcasts online of 45 out-of-market games each week -- about three games per team each week. The service is offering nine spring training games for free, beginning with the March 13 Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees game.
The live Webcasts will be streamed at 330K in the RealOne Player format. The service is priced at $14.95 per month, or $79.95 for the season. Individual games are available at $2.95 apiece.
