Microsoft Teams With 4Kids17 Jan, 2006 By: Holly J. Wagner
Microsoft Corp. and 4Kids Entertainment are partnering on a game deal to develop children's games based on 4Kids characters.
4Kids properties include “Yu-Gi-Oh!,” “Pok?mon” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”
Under the agreement, 4Kids Entertainment will serve as the global licensing agent for a forthcoming children's entertainment property on a basis for Microsoft Game Studios. The exclusive representation agreement encompasses all broadcast, home video, music and merchandise licensing rights.
The deal comes on the heels of another pact with game maker Ubisoft to develop and publish “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” video games based on the new CG feature-length film being produced by Imagi Animation Studios and to be distributed domestically by Warner Bros. Pictures and internationally by The Weinstein Co.
