9 Jan, 2007 By: Jessica Wolf

Iconic crooner Barry Manilow has gone platinum with his DVD package First & Farewell from Rhino Entertainment.

Since its late-October release, the double-disc set, created in partnership with Stiletto New Media, has been certified platinum. Disc one features never-before-seen footage from Manilow's inaugural tour rehearsal at Carroll's Studio in New York City in 1974 and the first Manilow videotape recording. The second DVD captures the final concert of the singer's 2004 “One Night Live! One Last Time!” Farewell Tour, recorded at The Pond in Anaheim, California.

“It is so gratifying to know that Barry's fans are as strong today as ever. He has been at the top of his game for over 30 years, and this DVD reinforces that music lovers of all ages are flocking to buy First & Farewell,” said Mark C. Grove, principal in Stiletto New Media.

The Manilow set is the first Stiletto has worked with Rhino Entertainment on.

Manilow also grabbed a 2006 Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program for Manilow: Music & Passion.
