The Magnificent Seven 'Magnificent Seven,' 'Suicide Squad' Hold Onto Top Disc Sales Spots

Sony Pictures' 'The Magnificent Seven' enjoyed a third week at No. 1 on the NPD VideoScan First Alert sales chart, which tracks combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc unit sales, for the week ended Jan. 8. Warner's 'Suicide Squad' was again No. 1 on the dedicated Blu-ray chart. The highest-ranking newcomer was Lionsgate’s 'Blair Witch' at No. 7 overall.

Universal Tops 2016 U.K. Home Entertainment Market

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment finished 2016 as the top studio in the United Kingdom, taking 20.2% market share, in addition to 18.5% in sales, according to the British Association for Screen Entertainment (BASE). The studio had 38 releases with unit sales of at least 100,000 each in the world’s third-largest home entertainment market.
