‘Van Helsing' Will Scare Up Video Sales Before Halloween2 Aug, 2004 By: Brendan Howard
Striking fear into the hearts of creatures of the night, Van Helsing will be hitting store shelves in time for Halloween.
The horror-flavored actioner — which pulled in a massive $120 million in theaters — will street Oct. 19 (prebook Sept. 7) from Universal Studios Home Video.
The Hugh Jackman-starrer will be available on VHS ($22.98), DVD ($29.98) and a three-disc collector's edition DVD (no SRP).
Buyers of the DVD will get a $5-off coupon toward the purchase of any of the “Monster Legacy Collection” titles: Dracula, Frankenstein and The Wolf Man as well as the upcoming The Mummy, The Invisible Man and The Creature From the Black Lagoon.
Extras on the single DVD will include an “Explore Dracula's Castle” feature as well as making-of material, outtakes, commentaries and an Xbox-playable level from the Van Helsing game.
In addition to all those extras, the three-disc set will include featurettes on Van Helsing's adventures, the film's special effects and music, and an “Explore Frankenstein's Lab” feature.
