Loeb Leads Netflix ‘Roadshow'

29 Jun, 2006 By: Jessica Wolf

Singer Lisa Loeb will host Netflix's summer movie “Rolling Roadshow.”

The 10-city movie tour will screen 10 modern classics at the locations they helped make famous. Taking place throughout the month of August, the tour will visit such iconic film locations as the baseball field in Dyersville, Iowa, that served as the centerpiece of Field of Dreams, the spooky Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colo., that was the inspiration for The Shining, and the infamous Alcatraz Prison in San Francisco Bay, where Escape from Alcatraz was made.

Loeb, a self-proclaimed movie lover and pop-culture aficionado, will appear at each event.

"I am looking forward to traveling around the country and sharing my passion for movies with everyone who will attend the screenings,” she said. It'll be a great night out with a date, friends and family, or at least a bucket of popcorn."

Netflix's Rolling Roadshow starts Aug. 2 with a screening of the gang-warfare flick The Warriors at New York's Coney Island.

The cross-country fest also will make stops Aug. 5 at State Beach in Martha's Vineyard for a showing of Jaws, and the Quick Stop in Leonardo, N.J., for a viewing of Clerks Aug. 8.
