23 Sep, 2005 By: Erik Gruenwedel

Lions Gate Entertainment's Family Entertainment (LGFE) unit has picked up North American home entertainment rights to “Peppa Pig,” the popular British animated TV series for preschoolers that bowed in the United States last month on Cartoon Network. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

LGFE, which got rights to 52 five-minute episodes in addition to 52 additional episodes in production, is planning to release the first “Peppa Pig” home video in the fourth quarter of 2006.
