Bratz Girlz Really Rock

Two children's DVDs are getting a big marketing push from Lionsgate.

First, prior to its Sept. 2 street date, Bratz Girlz Really Rock will be advertised in theaters, malls, online, on TV and Disney radio, and trailers are appearing on more than 500,000 other Bratz DVDs. Toys and the DVD will be cross-marketed as well.

Special features on the $19.98 DVD include a one-on-one interview with the real-life inspiration for the “Yasmin” Bratz doll, deleted scenes, sing-alongs, bloopers and a “Make Your Own Music Video” featurette.

A week later Thomas & Friends: The Great Discovery streets ($19.98), with Pierce Brosnan narrating the first ever feature-length Thomas & Friends DVD release. Special features include a behind-the-scenes featurette and three “Learn with Thomas” featurettes, and a music video.

The film will air in theaters nationwide and on PBS before it shows up on DVD.
