Why Did I Get Married?
Lionsgate will release Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married? on DVD for $29.95 on Feb. 12, just in time to celebrate both Black History Month and Valentine's Day.
“Mr. Perry has developed a huge and loyal fan base,” said Anne Parducci, EVP of marketing for Lionsgate. “We look forward to the continued success of the franchise on DVD.”
Why Did I Get Married? garnered $55.2 million at the box office, and the marketing campaign for the DVD will deliver more than 600 million household impressions, including TV spots, print, radio and online media. According to Parducci, the campaign is designed to primarily target black men and women between the ages of 25 and 49.
“There will be numerous retail promotions supporting the title and themed to Black History Month promotions,” Parducci said.
Additionally, Hallmark will promote a custom Tyler Perry Valentine's Day e-card between Feb. 2 and Feb. 17 on its e-card homepage as well as in the Valentine's Day and Mahogany sections of the site.
Also being released on DVD Feb. 12 is Tyler Perry's latest stage play, What's Done in the Dark, at $19.98. The play features eight songs, including four original works by Perry himself: “What's Done in the Dark,” “Let's Get Married,” “Jehovah Jireh” and “Don't Walk Away.”
