Lieberfarb Feted for DVD Leadership

Driving the creation and adoption of DVD technology has won the prestigious Wharton Infosys Business Transformation Award (Technology Change Leader category) for Warner Home president Warren Lieberfarb.

“Warren's vision was vital for leading a coalition of industries toward a product that now realizes consumer expenditures of $10 billion,” said , N. R. Narayana Murthy, chairman and chief mentor, Infosys Technologies Ltd. and Wharton Infosys Business Transformation Award Panelist.

Infosys Technologies and the William and Phyllis Mack Center for Technological Innovation at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania joined forces to present the award to recognize organizations that have transformed their business or industry through the creative application of technology in three categories: Organizationwide Transformation, Initiative-led Transformation and Technology Change Leader. Awards were presented for two regions, North America and Europe/Asia Pacific.

Other finalists in the Technology Change Leader category/North America were Rick Devenuti from Microsoft Corp., Gil Hope from HopeandCare International Inc., and Maynard Webb from eBay Technologies.

The Europe/Asia Pacific winner in the Technology Change Leader category was Takeshi Natsuno, managing director, i-Mode Strategy, NTT DoCoMo, Japan for

driving the i-mode initiative, the world's biggest wireless Internet service. The North American winner in the Organizationwide Transformation category was Capital One; the Europe/Asia Pacific winner in the category was the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE). In the best Initiative-led Transformation category, GreenPoint Mortgage won the award for North America and the winner for the Europe/Asia Pacific region was Schlumberger Oilfield Services.
