Latest Studio Layoffs Come From New Line20 Dec, 2005 By: Holly J. Wagner
New Line Cinema is the latest studio to tighten its belt with layoffs.
The studio laid off about 4 percent of its work force, or between 25 and 30 people, on both coasts, according to a source close to the company.
A few of the layoffs were in home entertainment. Among them were Justine Brody, formerly SVP of marketing; Jeff Platt, who was director of advertising and research; and Jennifer Sandler, formerly director of publicity. Other positions were eliminated in the finance division, the source said.
