Koch Strikes Deal With Detroit PBS

Koch Entertainment Distribution is in an exclusive distribution deal with WTVS Detroit Public Television's DPTV Media, Koch announced today.

Among the first products to be released with a February 2003 street date will be a VHS and DVD of The Daniel O'Donnell Show; two Daniel O'Donnell CDs, Live, Laugh, Love and Daniel O'Donnell's Greatest Hits (a 2-CD set); and a VHS and DVD of Celebrate! With The Celtic Tenors.

In addition to music specials, DPTV Media plans to release several children's videos that are part of "The Toy Castle" series, soon to be seen on PBS stations; lectures by motivational speakers including Les Brown and Marianne Williamson; and how-to programs on gardening, finances and other topics.

DPTV Media was formed in the fall of 2002 with the goal of providing the retail community with music and video product companions to Detroit Public Television's programs broadcast on PBS member stations throughout the United States.

"One in 10 viewers will make a pledge in support of public television and request as a 'thank you gift' a DVD, CD or VHS of the program they are watching,” said Diane Bliss, VP of fundraising programs at DPTV. “The other nine are inclined to look for the products in the retail marketplace.We are happy to have created an association with Koch Entertainment Distribution that will enable us to continue sharing quality programming with all public television viewers."

DPTV Media operates from the Detroit Public Television offices in Detroit and has brought Aimee Longato on board as the product/label manager to help coordinate marketing and distribution of all DPTV Media products.
