Koch Offers Free Title With Order of Three31 Dec, 2007 By: Chris Tribbey
Retailers and rental outlets will have a chance to stock up on Koch Lorber films in a unique sales promotion.
Starting Jan. 1, retailers who order three of 60 qualifying titles receive one for free.
“It's pretty bold,” said Koch Lorber GM Dan Gurlitz, adding that the program translates into 67% savings off retail price for the titles. “The idea is to provide these merchants with substantial margins during a time of year when sales are typically strong.”
Predominantly international cinema, the 60 titles range from classical to contemporary and are priced at $14.98 to $29.98. They include Swept Away, A Few Days in September, Le Petit Lieutenant, Violette and Changing Times.
“In this program, you buy three, you pick one. It doesn't matter what the price of the [free one] is,” Gurlitz said.
The offer, which runs through March 31, is open to retail, mail order and online merchants who sell directly to consumers. Those interested in the program can place their orders through their distributor, and then submit an invoice directly to Koch Lorber for the free movies. Invoices must be postmarked no later than April 15.
Order forms will be available via the company the first of the year.
