Koch Offers Downloads Through EZTakes

20 Jun, 2006 By: Jessica Wolf

Koch Entertainment is launching its considerable lineup of independent and arthouse films into the digital market through DVD download service, EZTakes.

EZTakes will gradually add Koch titles to its download-to-burn Web service, www.eztakes.com.

The site launched early this year and has offered a legally downloadable catalog of feature independent films, classics, cult, horror and Bollywood movies.

"We believe that EZTakes' consumer-friendly model makes it very attractive to paying customers," said Koch Entertainment Distribution president Michael Rosenberg. "Giving people the ability to easily burn downloads to DVDs that will play in their living rooms provides the kind of value and convenience that consumers are willing to pay for."

To combat piracy, EZTakes imbeds each downloaded DVD with the consumer's identity and a specific ID number. Illegal copies are easily traceable, according to the company.
