JCPenny.com Launches Music and Movie Shop

JCPenney.com has launched a music and movies shop on the Web site, adding more than 65,000 CDs, videos and DVDs.

The shop, which can be found at www.JCPenney.com/music&movies, offers free shipping through July 19, 2001.

Coming soon to the site, according to the company, are digital downloads of thousands of music titles. No details of the download service were available.

Said Paul Pappajohn, president, JCPenney.com, "Music andmovies are a natural extension to our offering, and we are excited to enter this new category. In thenext three years, consumers will be spending $5 billion to buy CDs, videos and DVDs online, and we look forward to fulfilling their needs in this proven category."

JCPenney.com teams up with Handleman Company to bring music and movies to its online shoppers. Handleman will provide shop support, maintenance and order fulfillment, as well as customer support services.
