Janson Bows Catalog on Google Video9 Oct, 2006 By: Erik Gruenwedel
Janson Media, whose eclectic DVD catalog ranges from children's and family fare to documentaries and educational product, has inked an electronic-sellthrough deal with Google Video.
Under terms of the deal, Google users would be able to download-to-own more than 140 titles at prices ranging from $4.99 to $14.99 each.
Stephen Janson, president of the Harrington Park, N.J.-based distributor, said the titles would be available electronically on the same date as the DVD release.
He expects to announce similar distribution deals with other online video distribution portals and Web sites.
“We see it as a new growth market for our DVD business,” said Janson.
