Jagger Fights Back11 Nov, 2003 By: Jessica Wolf
Facing criticism from indie music retailers for the decision to release their new four-disc DVD boxed set Four Flicks exclusively through Best Buy locations in North America for the first four months of release, Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger defended the decision last week, citing the fact that fans will be able to get a better price through the giant electronics retailer, according to the Associated Press. Three Canadian chains recently called for a boycott of all Stones product in opposition to the Best Buy exclusive (VSM, Nov. 2-8).
“This is not like allowing them [Best Buy] to sell some Blockbuster movie which is going to sell 2 million DVDs in the first week, you know, a Raiders of the Lost Ark or something like that,” Jagger told the Associated Press. “This is really small potatoes compared to that.”
Four Flicks streets Nov. 11 at Best Buy locations only. The release chronicles the legendary rock group's recent Rolling Stones Licks World Tour.
