Tae Bo Ready for Next Round With New Titles10 Aug, 2003 By: Jessica Wolf
It won't be Tae Bo as usual for GoodTimes Entertainment's upcoming releases of the heavyhitting workout program. Tae Bo Flex and Tae Bo Cardio street Oct. 7 (prebook Sept. 2) on VHS at $12.95 and DVD at $19.95 each.
On hand at last month's VSDA convention to promote the new releases, Tae Bo creator Billy Blanks told a crew of morning exercisers to expect some challenging and exciting workouts from the new programs. He's also slowed down the music a bit, Blanks said. Blanks and his daughter/Tae Bo partner said they've developed new cuing techniques as well as different instructional methods for breaking down Tae Bo movements after traveling across the country and around the world teaching people the workouts.
Though sales of fitness programming like Yoga and Pilates titles have stolen a bit of Tae Bo's thunder in the last year or so, the market is starting to cycle back to a more cardio focus, like the workouts Tae Bo offers, said GoodTimes president Bill Sondheim.
“This is why you're going to see Tae Bo have a great resurgence of popularity,” he said.
