Smallville to Show Up Big on DVD24 Jun, 2003 By: Hive News
It's a bird!
It's a plane!
No, it's the well-sculpted Tom Welling with his shirt off on the box art for Smallville: The Complete First Season (DVD $64.92). That should encourage some ogling and purchases.
The six-disc collector's set streets Sept. 23 (prebook Aug. 26) from Warner Home Video.
In addition to all 21 episodes, plus the pilot episode, the set has audio commentary from the executive producers and the writer on select episodes, deleted scenes, a storyboard-to-screen featurette, an interactive tour of Smallville, a DVD-ROM link to the smallville.net Web site, and various language subtitles.
The ad campaign will include cross-promotion on the WB this fall -- where the show will premiere its third season -- and ads on cable channels, online and in print.
“Smallville” follows the adventures of a teenage Superman as he learns about his powers and tries to handle a growing love for the beautiful Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk).
