The home video audience will get to find out Who Framed Roger Rabbit March 25 when the live-action/animated film arrives on Vista Series two-disc DVD set (in widescreen and full frame formats) and an exclusive video bonus edition from Touchstone Home Entertainment.
Suggested retail price will be $29.99 on DVD and $19.99 on VHS.
The release is designed to present the film in the most complete edition possible, with something for every viewer, a spokesperson said. Created with help from the filmmakers, the edition is presented in 5.1 Dolby digital surround sound with the most pristine digital presentation of the film available. The DVD includes loads of bonus features that go behind the scenes and a new look at the movie that merged live action and animated films.
The DVD set includes full-frame and widescreen editions, the animated short Tummy Trouble, making-of featurettes, set-top game Trouble in Toontown, audio commentary with director Robert Zemeckis and
fellow filmmakers, deleted scenes and "Toontown Confidential" pop-up style trivia.
Prebook dates are Jan. 28 for direct orders and Feb. 11 for distributor orders.
