Internet Video Continues to Grow

20 Jun, 2007 By: Billy Gil

The Internet video craze has far from peaked, according to recent data from comScore Video Metrix, a division of global Internet-information provider comScore that measures online video content.

The number of unique U.S. streamers topped 126 million in March, about a 3% increase over nearly 123 million in January, and about a 14% increase over 110 million in August 2006.

“We continue to be encouraged by these numbers, as this type of growth is certainly remarkable,” said Pavel Medvedev, president and CEO of Tubearoo Inc., a Fairfax, Va.-based network of user-generated video and social-networking Web sites. “As we see Internet video grow in popularity and become more and more of a mainstream utilization of the Internet, the sheer size of these numbers demonstrates the potential of the Internet video market.”
