Charles Dickens' Nicholas Nickleby may have started as a poor orphan, but the film on DVD from MGM Home Entertainment is rich with extras.
The title streets July 22 (prebook June 24) on rental-priced VHS and $26.98 DVD.
The special edition DVD comes with commentary from director Douglas McGrath, the 11-part half-hour documentary “Creating a Classic: The Making of Nicholas Nickleby,” a featurette of cast members talking about their experience on the set, and a behind-the-scenes photo gallery.
The DVD also sports a “View on the Set” multi-angle featurette, giving viewers a look at what it would be like to be in front of the lights, cameras and smoke machines.
The film, which made $1.3 million in theaters, stars Charlie Hunnam as Nickleby, with supporting roles filled by Jim Broadbent, Alan Cumming, Anne Hathaway, Nathan Lane and Billy Elliott star Jamie Bell.
