Image Entertainment has come to terms with Canada's Entertainment One (E1) for distribution of Image properties in Canada.
E1 secured the theatrical, digital and home entertainment rights of more than 9,000 hours of Image product, and the agreement will run through 2012. The deal also includes Image's music catalog.
"The signing of this long-term distribution agreement with Entertainment One and its group of companies represents a significant expansion of our overall Canadian distribution efforts,” said Image COO David Borshell. “Image continues to aggressively pursue a variety of high-profile programming including feature films, and we are all excited to continue working with a group of people that have been dedicated to our mutual success for many years.”
David Reckziegel, co-president of E1 subsidiary Seville added, “This deal is another major milestone in building our Canadian library and distribution infrastructure. The addition of these theatrical, television and digital rights will allow us to expand our distribution activities significantly in Canada.”
