<I>Gods and Generals</I> on Its Way to Video

Warner Home Video July 15 will release the Civil War epic Gods and Generals on home video.

Prebook is June 17. The film is $27.98 on a two-sided DVD and $22.99 in a two-VHS set.

DVD extras will include a filmed introduction by Ted Turner, three documentary featurettes, music videos and audio commentary with director Ron Maxwell and historians. The disc is also DVD-ROM-enabled.

Gods and Generals stars Robert Duvall, Jeff Daniels and Stephan Lang, and made $12.9 million in theaters.

The 1996 TV movie Andersonville, about a Confederate prisoner of war, will make its DVD debut the same day at $19.98. Customers who buy Andersonville and Gods and Generals will get a free Red Badge of Courage DVD by mail ($3.25 shipping and handling). Also, those who buy the Gods and Generals video and its soundtrack will receive a $3 mail-in rebate.
