IGN.com Begins Game Rentals26 Mar, 2002 By: John Gaudiosi
After adding subscription service IGNInsider.com last year to help offset sagging advertising revenues, online video game news site IGN.com has entered the video game rental business.
Partnering with RedOctane.com, which has 1,500 video games for all platforms in its library, IGN.com will include a "Rent It Now" button on every game review.
For a flat rate of $18.95 per month, gamers will be able to rent two games at a time for an entire month, including free shipping to and from your home.
The site also offers seven-day rentals for $4.95. Through its partnership with CompUSA's Gamefixx.com, consumers will also be able to buy any game that IGN.com previews or reviews.
