IGN Entertainment, a division of Fox Interactive Media, and Ipsos Media CT, have jointly conducted a research study on video game players. The research study examines their growing diversity, consumption patterns and social activities.
Bucking the stereotype that gamers are anti-social, the research shows that 75% of gamers play games with other people, that gamers are twice as likely to go out on dates in any given month than non-gamers, and that the video game world is expanding to a more diverse crowd. The average age of gamers now tops 30, and roughly half are married and/or have children.
