iDEA Gets Buying Group Support

The Independent Dealers of Entertainment Association (iDEA) Monday announced it had entered into a service agreement with the National Entertainment Buying Group (formerly New England Buying Group).

Under terms of the deal, iDEA members would be able to realize purchasing power normally reserved for larger chains. Retailers who meet certain purchasing levels through participating distributors would be eligible monthly member marketing packages, pre-printed promotional mailers/postcards, custom email promotions, and even occasional rebates on product sold to consumers.

iDEA members would not have to join NEBG in order to obtain these benefits.

“This new alliance will allow both organizations, collectively, to benefit more [independent video retailers] than they could have individually, allow for the creation of more benefits, stimulate increased flexibility and innovation, result in greater cost savings to members, and increase their competitive capabilities,” said NEBG president Todd Zaganiacz.
