HIT Inks Development, Distribution Deals

23 Oct, 2007 By: Chris Tribbey

Britain's HIT Entertainment has reached a co-development deal with Korean animation studio SAMG and British production company Cocaban, and has secured new distribution deals with Animated Adventures & Pictures (AAP) and Spargo Productions.

For AAP, HIT will distribute “The Likeaballs,” a BBC show for ages 6 to 11.

“‘The Likeaballs' is a perfect addition to our existing portfolio of preschool and young children's programming,” said Alison Homewood, EVP of worldwide TV for HIT.

For Spargo, HIT will distribute three children's properties: “Willo the Wisp,” “Little Monsters,” and “Microscopic Milton.”

“HIT has a history of working with the strongest third-party programming and these three titles, together with the shows that Spargo has in development, fit perfectly into our existing line-up,” Homewood said.

HIT's new development deal revolves around “T5,” an animated show for ages 6 to 8 about a group of household pets who take to the racetrack, which is broadcast to millions of other pets worldwide.
