Episodes of HIT Entertainment's “Barney” and “Bob the Builder” will be popping up on the Web soon via thePlatform's online video publishing tools.
A subsidiary of Comcast, thePlatform first launched episodes of “Thomas & Friends” on the U.S. site for the preschool-aged series in October and reported 3 million streams in two weeks. Other HIT properties in line for online streaming in the coming months include “Angelina Ballerina” and “Fireman Sam.”
“HIT is always looking for new and innovative ways to expand distribution of our award-winning content,” said Robert Weisstuch, SVP of HIT. “By utilizing thePlatform, we will implement an online publishing and management system that can handle our needs and be flexible enough to grow with our content and viewers into the future.”
Currently thePlatform provides online video publishing services for BBC, CNBC, Court TV and others.
