GoVideo DVD Recorder Lets Consumers Make Hollywood-Style DVDs

29 Sep, 2004 By: Holly J. Wagner

GoVideo is introducing a DVD recorder with VCR that lets consumers archive their home movies on DVD.

The VR2940 includes the usual features plus integrated YesDVD digital authoring technology to let consumers create Hollywood-style DVDs simply. The embedded YesDVD feature lets consumers add DVD elements like onscreen disc menus, chapter indices with picture thumbnails and music videos.

The unit includes a front-panel DVD input and analog inputs, enabling easy connection of digital and analog camcorders and an onscreen menu for recording to DVD or creating a YesDVD. The YesDVD feature automatically creates up to 54 chapter scenes of the best images from the video source and creates a disc menu for easy searching and viewing. Users can put the finished YesDVD disc into a Windows-based PC to print a DVD cover with thumbnail images representing each scene.

GoVideo is offering consumers its highest level of customer support, “White Glove Customer Care,” which includes a free DVD+RW disc in the product package with instructions for a toll-free call to a GoVideo customer service representative for help making the first DVD recording.

The unit is priced at $349.99.
