Google Rolling Out New VR Video Format, Camera

Looking to simplify creation of virtual reality (VR) video, Google June 22 announced that YouTube and its Daydream VR unit will launch VR180, new software and a camera that makes its easier for creators to shoot and develop VR content.

Sling Bows Cloud DVR Access on iOS, Windows 10 and AirTV

Sling TV June 22 announced rollout of cloud-based DVR access for iOS and Windows 10 devices, plus the AirTV Player. The Dish Network online TV platform launched in 2015 but did not offer video recording until this year.

Barnes & Noble Narrows Q4 Nook Loss

National bookseller Barnes & Noble June 22 said its Nook Digital Business unit posted a fourth-quarter (ended April 29) operating loss of $7.9 million on revenue of $32 million. That compared with an operating loss of $23.9 million on revenue of $42 million during the previous-year period.
