Golden Globe Winners

17 Jan, 2005 By: Lyndsey Shinoda

The Aviator

Awards were flying as the Hollywood Foreign Press Association doled out three Golden Globes to the Howard Hughes biopic The Aviator, including best motion picture — drama and best actor for Leonardo DiCaprio.

Clint Eastwood's Million Dollar Baby cashed in on Globe gold with two wins, as did the star-packed Closer, while Sideways landed on its feet with two Golden Globe awards.

On the TV front, one suburban, secrets-filled show swept up with two Golden Globes for newcomer “Desperate Housewives” in the best television series — musical or comedy and best actress for self-proclaimed “has-been” Teri Hatcher. Biopics and biodocs were all the rage as The Life and Death of Peter Sellers also earned two Globes.
