YouTube Inks CBS to Pending Online TV Service

Google-owned YouTube has reportedly signed a carriage agreement with CBS for a pending online TV service launching in 2017. The Walt Disney Co. and 21st Century Fox also are in negotiations to offer select channels to the service, which is expected to launch in the first quarter, according to 'The Wall Street Journal,' which first reported the deals.

Trans World Entertainment Acquires Digital Retailer for $75 Million

Trans World Entertainment Corp., owner/operator of “For Your Entertainment” (f.y.e.) home entertainment retail stores, has acquired Etailz Inc., a Spokane, Wash.-based digital marketplace retailer, for $75 million in cash and stock.

PBS Kids Bows Branded Tablet

PBS Kids Oct. 17 announced it would launch a branded tablet Nov. 6. The 16GB “Playtime Pad” comes preloaded with more than 25 games, 120 video clips and music videos, along with more than 100 hours of video on the PBS Kids app. Other apps include PBS Kids ScratchJr and PBS Parents Play and Learn.
