Gamestop Projects Q3 Comp-Store Sales Drop

Citing the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, national video game retailer GameStop Corp. announced it expects third-quarter (ended Oct. 29) same-store sales to drop as much as 12.5 percent.

Diluted earnings per share are expected to be from 14 cents to 15 cents compared to previously forecasted earnings of from 18 cents to 20 cents per diluted share.

The forecast includes a $1 million charge related to the hurricanes.
