Gameboy Gets DreamWorks Movies9 Jun, 2005 By: Jessica Wolf
DreamWorks SKG, one of only two major suppliers (Warner Home Video the other) not providing content for Sony's PlayStation Portable (PSP) format, the Universal Media Disc (UMD), is instead prepping content for the handheld player's biggest competition, the Nintendo GameBoy.
DreamWorks will release its hit animation titles Shrek, Shrek 2 and Shark Tale for GameBoy cartridges to be released later this summer in partnership with game publisher Majesco. The studio's latest animated release, Madagascar, may also be tapped for GameBoy video content after its release to the home entertainment market, according to reports.
Other video content available for the GameBoy includes programming from animated TV shows like “SpongeBob SquarePants,” “The Fairly OddParents,” “Jimmy Neutron,” “Dora the Explorer,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” “Strawberry Shortcake” and others.
