FremantleMedia and Nevlana Sign U.K. Deal

8 Oct, 2007 By: Billy Gil

FremantleMedia Enterprises has entered into a four-year partnership with distributor Nelvana Enterprises, granting FremantleMedia exclusive DVD distribution rights for Nelvana's animated content in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The deal allows FremantleMedia to broaden its children's entertainment brands in the United Kingdom, which had included DangerMouse, Count Duckula and The Wind in the Willows. FreemantleMedia will begin releasing on DVD such Nelvana shows as “Babar,” “Grossology,” “Di-Gata Defenders,” “Jane and the Dragon,” “Franklin” and “Rolie Polie Olie.”

“We are delighted to be entering into this partnership with Nelvana Enterprises,” said FremantleMedia's Pete Kalhan, SVP, home entertainment and archive sales. “We can now focus on the sales, marketing and distribution of DVD and digital content for Nelvana, whilst they can focus on developing high-quality children's programming and brands.”
