Fox Slates Second Horror Classics Set

As part of its Fox Cinema Classics Colletion, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment Sept. 9 (prebook Aug. 20) releases Fox Horror Classics Vol. Two on DVD at $19.98.

The set features the films Chandu the Magician, Dr. Renault's Secret and Dragonwyck. Each film has been restored and remastered and features bonus material.

Chandu the Magician (1932) stars Bela Lugosi in a film about an inventor who plans to dominate the human race. It features commentary by author Gregory William Mank, a featurette, a restoration comparison and a still gallery. Dr. Reunault's Secret (1942), about a scientist who has turned an ape into a man, includes a featurette, restoration comparison, trailer and still gallery.

Dragonwyck (1946), directed by Academy Award winner Joseph Mankiewicz and starring Gene Tierney, Walter Huston and Vincent Price, is about a farm girl who comes to tutor a distant cousin's daughter at Dragonwyck manor and discovers dark secrets. Included are a featurette, a “Dragonwyck” radio show with Price and Tierney from 1946, an isolated score track, a restoration comparison, a trailer and a still gallery.
