Fox, Genex Re-launch 'Planet of the Apes' Sites to Support DVD, VHS Releases on Nov. 2030 Oct, 2001 By: Hive News
Twentieth 20th Century Fox has teamed with Internet consulting and development firm Genex to re-launchwww.planetoftheapes.com for the home entertainment releases of Planet of the Apes on Nov. 20. The move is timed to support worldwidedistribution of the DVD and VHS versions of the movie.
Genex previously worked with 20th Century Fox to develop the original site for the theatrical release, which has posted a domestic gross of $180 million. This second edition of the Apes site, which goes live in early November, features extensive, previously unseen footage, which will debut on the site in advance of the DVD, and point-of-purchase information supporting DVD sales. The site will also be accessible in nine languages.
The site's technology also enables content to be customized based upon the user's geographic location, supporting display of regional events and promotions only in those applicable markets.
