The Fox Innovation Lab is developing a virtual reality experience for 20th Century Fox’s upcoming film Alien: Covenant in conjunction with RSA Films and MPC VR, a Technicolor company.
The Alien: Covenant VR experience, which guides viewers through horrifying environments in the “Alien” universe, will be directed by David Karlak and executive produced by the film’s director, Ridley Scott.
The Fox Innovation Lab at 20th Century Fox, established as a research and development center to drive the advancement of groundbreaking technology and new consumer experiences across all formats and distribution models, previously released VR experiences based on the films Wild and The Martian.
Alien: Covenant, a sequel to Scott’s 2012 film Prometheus and a prequel to his 1979 film Alien, arrives in theaters May 19.
