Fox Creates Global Research Unit17 Mar, 2006 By: Thomas K. Arnold
In a further sign of the growing high-tech nature of the home entertainment business, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has tapped Danny Kaye for the new position of EVP of global research and technology strategy.
Kaye is an eight-year veteran at Fox, most recently serving the domestic home entertainment division as SVP of research and business development. He will report directly to Mike Dunn, worldwide president of 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.
In his new role, Kaye will lead and oversee all worldwide research functions for the division, including consumer research, global retail research, market analysis and forecasting. He also will continue to play a strategic leadership role in the division's involvement in future technologies, including the launch of the Blu-ray Disc high-definition optical disc. In addition, Kaye will work with other Fox and News Corp. business units to develop new technology strategy for the overall company.
Dunn praised Kaye's “keen analytic skills and strategic insight and abilities” and said he's already “made meaningful contributions that have changed the way we approach our business, our customers and, most importantly, our consumers.”
“I look forward to working even more closely with him as our business continues to evolve and we develop our plans to capture consumers and the growing digital dollars,” Dunn said.
Before joining Fox, Kaye worked at Universal Studios as VP of strategic planning and research in consumer products.
