Fitness Star Gilad Pumps Out 25th Year on TV29 Dec, 2007 By: Angelique Flores
Gilad Janklowicz of the fitness TV series “Bodies in Motion” and “Total Body Sculpt With Gilad” is closing in on 25 years on television in 2008.
And the fitness star isn't slowing down. Gilad has produced 22 videos — 18 are still in print — and will release a two-DVD set Feb. 29 (prebook Jan. 22).
Gilad's 15 Targeted Express Workouts ($29.99) will feature 15 new workouts, including fat burning, cardio, strength, core and sculpting segments that are less than 10 minutes each. Users can download an “Express Workouts” chart from Gilad's Web site, www.bodiesinmotionwithgilad.com.
Most of Gilad's other videos have been taken from his two fitness shows, “Bodies in Motion,” which debuted in 1983, and “Total Body Sculpt With Gilad,” which debuted in 2005. Both shows air on FitTV and feature striking outdoor background scenery.
The fitness pioneer has been featured in numerous health and lifestyle magazines over the years and has trained with such fitness personalities as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jack LaLanne and quarterback Joe Theismann.
In March 2007 he was inducted into the National Fitness Hall of Fame. More recently, he has been featured in VH1's “America's Most Smartest Model” as the fitness trainer for the models.
“He's very forceful, but he's friendly. People respond to him,” said Pete Appruzese, director of marketing for Bayview Entertainment, which exclusively distributes Gilad's DVDs.
Gilad's so popular that he has a fan club of Giladiators, Appruzese said. While these ardent fans are looking forward to Gilad's new DVDs, Appruzese said, many of Gilad's older workout DVDs still sell well year-round.
