Fitness Pro Offers New Line10 Oct, 2005 By: Jessica Wolf
Want to be alive in your body? Fitness pro Michelle LeMay said she's found the way. After a lifetime of dance, 20 years of instructing, and a stint covering health and fitness as a CBS reporter, she's developed “Dance Inspired Yoga,” an exercise discipline hitting DVD Nov. 8 from Razor Digital Entertainment.
LeMay, who runs a private personal training business in Los Angeles, said at 43, she feels better and has less body pain and tension than she did in her 30s.
Her unique stretch workouts arrive in three titles — Spirit Flow: Rejuvenating Core Stretch, Spirit Flow: The Seven Essential Stress Relievers and Spirit Flow: Alive in Your Body ($14.99 each DVD).
The key to her method is unlocking deeply held pockets of stress, LeMay said. The movements she's developed open up those pockets, revitalize and oxygenate the muscles, she said. Her clients have seen quick results, she said, becoming leaner and basking in the mental byproduct of the exercise — a relaxed mental state free of stress.
“The body is basically a field of energy,” LeMay said. “It's about getting that stagnant energy moving.”
Beginning in December, LeMay will be featured, along with seven other top fitness professionals, in a new workout series to air on Discovery Health Channel.
“We'll be promoting the heck out of that,” Mitch Perliss, Razor EVP, said. “We are creating programs that will push the right buttons at retail to give us the opportunity to prove that our artists are very sellable.”
