First Run Features May 19 said it sold its financial stake in 21-year-old documentary label First Run/Icarus Films back to Icarus Films for an undisclosed amount.
The label will change its name to Icarus Films June 1 and will continue to be wholly owned by Jonathan Miller, who continues as president.
First Run, which distributes from 10 to 15 theatrical and 50 DVD titles annually, will continue to release select non-theatrical titles through Icarus.
Recent First Run releases have included Michael Apted's 49 Up, Daniel Karslake's For the Bible Tells Me So and Oren Jacoby's Constantine's Sword.
Recent Icarus releases included I For India (directed by Sandhya Suri), Forever (directed by Heddy Honigmann) and Nina Davenport's Operation Filmmaker, opening June 4 at the IFC Center in New York.
