FCC Chairman Circulates Draft Order to Repeal Current Net Neutrality Provisions

Federal Communications Commission chairman Ajit Pai Nov. 21 formally circulated to fellow commission members a draft order intended to scuttle net neutrality guidelines imposed by the government under the Obama Administration. The order will be voted on at the FCC’s open meeting on Dec. 14.

Collectibles, New Releases, Nintendo Switch Up GameStop Q3 Profit 17%

Strong demand for collectibles, new video games and the Nintendo Switch console contributed to GameStop reporting third-quarter net income of $59.4 million, up almost 17% from income of $50 million during the previous-year period. Revenue increased 1.5% to $1.98 billion.

FYE Retail Chain Widens Q3 Loss

Trans World Entertainment Corp. Nov. 21 said the “For Your Entertainment” (fye) retail unit posted a third-quarter (ended Oct. 28) operating loss of $7.8 million, up 56% from a loss of $5 million during the previous-year period. Revenue declined almost 17% to $52.1 million, from $62.4 million.
