Enthusiasm Builds Over Samsung's New Wi-Fi HDTV2 Jan, 2007 By: Jessica Wolf
The big stumbling block to widespread adoption of digital video downloading, aside from broadband speeds, is the idea that people like to actually watch video on big, pretty TV screens.
To that end, tech bloggers and consumer electronics enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the new HDTV set Samsung is reportedly set to unveil next week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
Samsung's HP-TS064 Plasma TV model reportedly will feature built-in Wi-Fi, which will connect the TV to the PC for viewing Internet-based or hard-drive stored video content. That includes high-def content.
The set will also reportedly house a hard drive, which will let owners record and manipulate TV programs in a Tivo-like fashion.
There's no word yet on what the set will cost.
