Post Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the eyes of 11 film directors, a single mom/prostitute's journey of redemption and an Oscar-nominated samurai film are among the DVD fare that will be distributed in the fourth quarter by Empire Pictures Home Entertainment (EPHE), the nascent unit launched by independent distributor Empire Pictures.
In addition to the aforementioned September 11, La Vie Promise and The Twilight Samurai, other DVD releases from EPHE for the fourth quarter include a two-disc documentary Yves Saint Laurent,Argentine comedy Suddenly, French period drama Monsieur N, post-holocaust drama Almost Peaceful, and the French thriller Step by Step.
EVP Steve Pennie, a former national accounts manager with Central Park Media, will head New York-based EPHE. Pennie will report to Empire president Edmondo Schwartz.
